Yemi Alade is popularly referred to as “That Yoruba-Igbo girl”, since her father is of the Yoruba origin and her mother is of the Igbo origin, such a beautiful blend of the nigerian culture.
Yemi Alade made her first musical debut in an all-girls group called Noty spices In 2005, she went on to win the Peak talent show In 2009 which gave her music career a great boost. In the last quarter of 2013, she released her record breaking hit single “Johnny” Produced by Selebobo. Johnny was listed as one of the best songs of 2013.
Yemi Alade has covered several magazines and performed around the globe, she has shared the stage and songs with Mary J. Blige, Shina Peters, M.I, Wizikd, Becca, May D, Waje, Yemi Sax and a lot of other artistes. She headlined the Super Diva’s Nite at the Calabar festival in 2013 and opened for the 2013 Headies Awards. She has had a lot of awards nominations and has won a few to her name.
