She’s widely known on the big screen, both home and abroad, she’s our very own super talented female actor, Singer, former model, role model, philanthropist, mother, wife, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde popularly known as ‘Omosexy’.
Our WCW is known as a fierce human rights campaigner and her philanthropic efforts are centered on her NGO project called the Omotola Youth Empowerment Programme (OYEP). Omosexy has been happily married to Captain Matthew Ekeinde for 21 years and they both have four lovely children.
In her acting career, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde was introduced to acting by accompanying a friend to an audition. Her first role was in the 1995 movie ‘Venom of Justice’, she has featured in over 300 films. In addition to her movie roles, Omosexy launched a long-awaited music career in 2005 with the release of her debut album titled ‘Gba’.
In 2012, Omotola launched her very own reality tv show called ‘Omotola: The Real Me’ which made her the first Nigerian celebrity to star in her own reality show.
Beyond her show business accomplishments, she has also been applauded for her remarkable humanitarian efforts. In 2013, she was honoured in Times Magazine’s list of the most influential people in the world. In 2014, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde was also honoured by the Nigerian government as a member of the Order of the Federal Republic, MFR for her contributions to Nigerian Cinema.
